Mellott - Wayne Stephens, 65, of Mellott died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday (6 August 1992) in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Stephens was a retired truck driver and served in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Quigle-Palin American Legion Post 394 of Newtown and the Old South Christian Church of Mellott. He attended Mellott HS. He was born Feb 20, 1927, at Mellott to Harry L. and Ada Pearl Sowers Stephens. His mother survives. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Richard (Delores) Frazier of Kokomo. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Cramer-Shoemaker Funeral Home at Waynetown, Rev. Wm. Chapman officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemeter. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Military graveside rites are planned.
